6/18 – Father’s Day Forecast, Some Sun and Showers, Tropics Update

Happy Father’s Day!  Starting our day at 82F with a few showers in the north Broward area moving off to the north.  We are likely to see more showers today with a high of 87F.  Main weather threats will be moderate to heavy rain and lightning.  Not a complete washout but you will need a rain plan.

Tropics have become a bit active for this time of year with the NHC watching two areas for possible development.

Neither are a direct threat to south Florida but the Gulf system could enhance our rain chances and amounts if it takes a more westerly track towards the state.  Development is not expected to be significant so this would be more of a rain threat. Some of the latest model rains show the wide spread of possibilities for the center.

Air Force Recon will check out this system later today.

Enjoy your day!

6/10 – Clouds and Some Showers Today

We have seen some blue skies over the last couple days but more clouds and some rain are in store for us today.  Latest radar shows scattered showers over the area.

Official rainfall forecast amounts are less than a half inch today along the east coast.   This will not be a washout so do not cancel outdoor plans.

High today will be 87F.  10 day GFS output shows we are in our summer temp pattern.

Enjoy you day!
