Half of 2018 is now over as we turn the page to July. Very warm and humid morning in Pompano Beach with a 9am temp of 85F. A note from yesterday, our high was 89F which was our first sub-90F high in over a week.
Some drier air has worked into the area this will keep rain coverage down today but will not eliminate the chance of showers and thunderstorms. Latest HRRR shows some activity developing late morning then moving off to the west.
Winds will be from the southeast today which should keep our temps just under 90F. The GFS is showing highs into the 90s and the Euro in the mid-80s so let’s like again at the HRRR which I think has a better solution for the highs today.
Do not hesitate to get outside today but drink lots of water! If heading to the beach be aware of lots of seaweed, here is what the shoreline looked like this morning.
I could even see the seaweed bobbing in the nearshore water as well. That is the “rough” texture you can see on the ocean’s surface in the pictures.
Enjoy the day!
